Note of Passage
Began in 2104 as a trio of guitar, bass, and drums.
Guitarist Andrew Lovegrove started the band and uses it as the creative and playing platform for his original compositions. His style is rooted deep in the blues and then infuses it with elements of jazz, pop, rock, latin, and other genres.
Note of Passage is the 1st Friday of the month regular band at The Bayou, so come check us out!

Andrew Lovegrove (Guitar, Vocals) Based in Sandy, UT and originally from Darien, CT
Guitar Player since ‘81. Studied with Chuck Dudley, Todd Schneider, Sal Salvador (Stan Kenton Band), Ed Tree (Spencer Davis, Rita Coolidge), and others. Attended Berklee College of Music in Summer ’84. Then a short stint in Music Program at Univ. of Utah. Then graduated from Musicians Institute (GIT) ‘86 Hollywood, CA. Attended New York Jazz Academy in Summer ‘12.
Started original band Jam-bella in ‘95 playing pop, rock, and blues. Played out locally, recorded 5 song original CD ‘98.
Original member of Wasatch Jazz Project(WJP) big band ’03-‘09. Branched off with scaled down WJP Quintet. Then moved on to form another quintet Jazz Brulee. Recorded 8 original songs. These groups have performed for many clubs, parties, corporate events, festivals, and weddings.
Started Note of Passage in ’14 to pursue a Trio to compose originals, then record and play ‘em live.
Worked for 20 years as an Engineer & Project Manager at Harman International, making audio products for DigiTech, dbx, Lexicon, and JBL.
